Safeguarding at Kehelland
Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We have a Child Protection Policy and procedures in place and all staff, volunteers and Governors must ensure that they are familiar with these. Parents and carers can access the policy on the policies page of the school website.
All our staff and volunteers are CRB/ DBS checked and their identity is verified. We follow the `Safer Recruitment Guidelines` when employing staff.
The schools designated safeguarding teachers are
Mr Geoff Smith DCPS
Michelle Brennan Governor with Child Protection responsibility
The school’s curriculum is designed to help children to develop the awareness, skills and understanding to keep themselves safe in an age appropriate way. The school works closely with a range of agencies to support children and families. If the school becomes aware of any issues related to child protection we follow the Cornwall Council procedures. All records are entirely confidential.
Parents clearly share the vitally important role of safeguarding their children and we would request that if parents have any concerns they discuss them with the school.
