The registered Child Protection Liaison Officer complies with local child protection procedures approved by Cornwall Local Safeguarding Children’s Boards
We have policies and procedures in place that inform our safeguarding which can be viewed in the Policies section of our website.
It will be made clear to applicants for posts within the school that the position is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitations of Offenders Act 1974.
All applications for work within the school, will be interviewed before an appointment is made and will be asked to provide at least two references. All such references will be followed up.
In the case of applicants with unexplained gaps in their employment history, or who have moved rapidly from one job to another, explanations will be sought.
All appointments, both paid and voluntary, will be subject to a probationary period and will not be confirmed unless they have a police CRB/ DBS check.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.
We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.
Our Child Protection Liaison Officer (CPLO) is Mr Geoff Smith Headteacher. Our Deputy CPLO is Mrs Kyra Orchard (Senior Teaching Team)
