Porth

We take our house group name from the Cornish word for beach and cove. In Porth, the children wear yellow polo shirts to represent the sand on the beach and our emblem is the Grey Seal. A colony of Grey Seals can be seen down at Godrevy throughout the year.

Each week Porth group team up and spend time doing their paired reading. It is a wonderful opportunity for the children to spend time with each other across the classes. The younger children enjoy looking up to the good example of the older ones, and the older ones relish the opportunity to care for the younger children.

Of course, we use our House teams when we have Sports Day each year and during other whole school events. Healthy, friendly competition is an important part of learning for our children.

Our weekly awards celebrate the house teams, and our Lighthouse Keeper Award is rewarded with recognition of the house group. These are awarded points and collected for a special treat at the end of the year.
